Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a high performance, low friction engineering plastic with exceptional resistance to a wide variety of chemicals. It has a very high melting point, and even though its other mechanical properties are low compared to other engineering plastics, its high chemical resistance and melting point results in its wide adoption in a variety of applications.
