Hi, I have done a few test prints on my new CTC dual extruder, and I cant seem to get my settings locked down. I am using the makerware software.
I am using PLA on the the right extruder only. On the calibration boxes about halfway up the corners of the box start turning up and the layers start getting rougher on the sides. Also on the octopus example and bigger designs, sometimes the skirt warps up on the right side.
The settings I am using are:
temp: 195-205
bed: 50-60
Layer 0.15
fill 15%
shell: 2-3
extrude speed 40-50
travel speed 100-110
Also I have tried printing a cookie cutter, but the outside wall layers did not stick from about halfway up.
Have you a pictures of your prints. And i would print slower to let time to the pla to cool down between the payer or try to improve your cooling with a fan pointing towards the printer. With pla this shouldn’t create a warping issue.
About the skirt warps up, i think your bed isn’t properly leveled because it happen only on one side. If after a proper bed leveling it doesn’t improve you should try by changing your blue tape.
Does your extruder have a fan on one side, other than the stepper cooling fans, my QIDI does on the left extruder and I didn’t know starting out that it was to help PLA cool as it prints. You might search Thiniverse for this type of thing and see what comes up.
Personally, I think that adding a cooling fan (most people seem to use the active cooling duct v2) is essential for printing PLA. It transformed printing for me.
