New to 3d....Wanhao I3/Maker Select

Hello,

Brand new to 3d printing…Just received my first printer today. Monoprice Maker Select V2…I believe it is the same as the Wanhao.

Haven’t even tried to print yet because I am having trouble leveling the bed. I set the printer to “Home ALL” then starte leveling in this order: left front, left rear, right rear, right front.

I can get the left sides properly, but as I start to slide from left rear to right rear, the extruder rubs the platform. It rubs on the entire right side. I have the thumbweels tightened down on the right side.

What am I doing wrong/How can I fix this issue?

Thanks

Likely the Z bars aren’t level. The easiest fix for this is to disable the steppers and turn the couplers are the bottom of the threaded rods on either side by hand. Do this until both sides of the bar are flush with the top of the housing. Home all and then level the bed using the screws as normal.
Should fix your problem, there’s a wealth of info here also if you find other issues - Wanhao Duplicator i3 « 3d Printer Tips and Mods Wiki

Here is a link to the Wanhao I3 manual for startup with the list of things that they say to check. It specifically calls out making sure your x axis rods are level to the platform and shows how to make adjustments if it is not.

Thanks, this was the issue. Problem solved!
