I’ve had an Envisiontec Perfactory Micro Advantage for just over two years, and no doubting the quality of the build parts is amazing. However, I’m having an issue with the materials available. I’m pretty much stuck with the dark green HTM140, which I’m finding can be a bit brittle. When I bought the machine it was with the intention of running the D3 White resin. Shortly after installation this material was withdrawn. There is now recently a grey resin, Q-View, which may be a better option, but I’ve had a quote from the supplier of £ 305 p/0.5Kg plus I’d have to pay

£ 220 for the buildstyle. I think this is extortionate and a disgrace.

Has anyone had a similar issue and any solutions would be gratefully appreciated, as I’m not getting much assistance from the Envisiontec distributor.

A great little machine, excellent detailed build parts, but not entirely happy with the quality and lack of material choice.

Hi Adam, How do you use your printed parts are they masters for moulding or just prototypes?

They’re used for both purposes. The brittleness of the HTM140 is occasionally a problem when the part is required as is by the customer.

I would suggest ABS Flex as a possible option, where are you based?

I’m based in Welwyn Garden City in UK. I’ve been told by the distributor that the only materials available for my machine are HTM140 and Q-View and a couple of waxes; PIC100M and EC500M.

You should be able to get ABS Flex

Thanks for your help on this. I’ve just heard my distributor has broken ties with Envisiontec and effectively closed, so I’m on the look out for a new supplier of materials and service for my printer. Hopefully I’ll find one who can offer ABS Flex.

Have you tried R05 Grey from envisiontec? I use it every single day and it is great! Maybe try getting a sample print from shapeways.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’m not sure if this is available for my machine, but will look into it.

I’ve been told that I may be able to use RC90, which would be really good, as it’s the peach coloured resin that a lot of the war gamers seem to prefer for their figurines.
