I’m new to 3d printing and would like to buy my first 3D printer. I have a lot of exprience making 3D models in Solid Works and would like to start printing them. Most of the prints will have a big size so max. print size is a big factor for me. I will mostly print ABS. An other big factor for me is the prize, the Duplicator 4s i can get at 890 euro and the other 2 1200 euro.
I’m leaning to the Craftbot because it has the bigger print size (20x20x25cm vs 22.5x14.5x15cm). But i have read on some forums that bigger prints often means more warping so is it worth it to get the bigger printer?
Also i dont really want to tweak the printer so i want the best working 1 out of the box.
Hey @savage_twello, did you get a chance to check the 2016 3D Printer Guide, we put together based on the reviews of over 5300 printer owners? Hope this helps!
Hey thx for the reply. yes i checked it out but the flashforge creator pro and the craftbot both have high scores in the guide so i wanted some more advice on what was a better choice. Also i dont see the wanhao duplicator in there so that 1 is worse than the other 2? And is that difference worth 300 euro?
As far as Wanhao goes, unfortunately it didn’t get a high enough score to be featured in the guide (albeit a good one!), but you can still see what the users had to say about it by checking out the Printer Index: Best 3D Printer Guide 2023 | Hubs
I can speak only for the Flash Forge Creator Pro. I have had mine for a few months now, and the learning curve for it is steep. I have worked only in ABS. It took several reels of filament to really dial in my parts and feel as though I could consistently print nice parts, and I am still refining my processes. I was not able to get great quality at first but I have learned a great deal from forums like this one and now feel like my parts look good print after print. Over all, the FFCP has been wonderful to use. it is a simple and robust design. I have taken the nozzles several times and they are simply enough to understand and made of good quality parts. Overall I have been very happy with my machine. It is ready to use out of the box but quality comes with use and experience. I have found no shortage of advice or support for this machine. I would recommend it.
